Books on Image Generation provide a deep understanding of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs) and how they can be used to generate images. These books often include practical techniques for model fine-tuning, prompt preprocessing and generating high-quality images.
1. Generative AI: From Algorithms to Art in the Age of Machine Creativity
2025 by Prabhu TL

A book about generative models, which, judging by the content, was also created by a generative model. Regarding image generation, two approaches are considered - a combination of GAN and diffusion models and transformers. Currently, the first option gives the best results. For example, you will learn that GAN technology was invented by Ian Goodfellow in 2014 - it uses the competition of two neural networks - a generator and a discriminator to create an image. The generator starts with white noise and, based on the feedback of the discriminator (which evaluates whether the image looks like a normal picture (on which it was trained), edits the pixels and tries to fool the discriminator. GAN creates a small image, which is then enlarged by a diffusion model. The diffusion model adds noise to the image (randomly) and then cleans the noise. The trick is that it was trained to remove noise from millions of images.

2. A.I IMAGE GENERATION: Utilize Free Image Generators to Unleash Your Creative Potential
2024 by Dr. Fendi Ameen

From this book I learned about Bing Image Creator - Microsoft's free tool for generating images out of text description. The book provides practical guidance on using this service and other similar free AI image models. The discovers the significant potential of AI-based image creation across various industries but takes into account the ethical considerations, including the impact of deepfakes on social media and replacing designers with artificial intelligence.
