AI assistants are performing an increasing number of functions in recruiting. They automate recruiters' routine tasks: recognize unstructured resumes, generate texts for job postings, conduct initial candidate selection for a job opening and help to schedule meetings in calendar. Moreover, AI can already analyze video meetings with candidates and can notice details missed by the hiring manager or recruiter, such as tone of voice or specific phrases that could signal, for example, a candidate's lack of confidence. At the end of the meeting, AI assistant provides a complete transcription, highlighting candidate's strengths and weaknesses.

And based on all these advances, a logical question arises: will AI replace recruiters completely? Well, recruiters themselves say "No" and moreover that no one can replace a combination of recruiter + neural network.

They say that AI is currently very crude, literally following instructions. It extracts only the required information from a resume, ignoring many nuances. Another important point: in our field, non-verbal communication still plays a significant role. For companies it's important to assess a candidate's desire to work for them. When people are looking for a job, they communicate with dozens of employers. And a candidate's willingness to work for your company is determined by nonverbal cues. For example, how enthusiastically a person talks about their projects, products, past experience and so on during an interview. This is something only a human can perceive, while AI is unable to recognize and evaluate this desire in a candidate.

Besides, each company has its own candidate profile, consisting of a specific set of soft skills. Only a recruiter can evaluate soft skills during an interview. However, AI is quite adept at assessing hard skills if given the appropriate prompts. So for now, neural networks in HR are primarily a tool for process optimization. Everything that involves going beyond standard tasks remains a human domain. This is why a recruiter with AI knowledge is much more attractive to the market and to employers in general than specialists who do not use AI.
